As he tells it, in 1974 Fred Broker, a product of Poskin, went to the nearest financial institution with $10 to his name and asked for a loan to start a farm. That decision by Fred began a long tradition of farming in his family that is now known as Broker Farms. Through the 1980's farm crisis to many other challenges faced along the way, Broker Farms has thrived on the strength of family and on the virtue of prudence. They will exhibit their farm to the public on June 1, 2024, for the 49th Annual Barron County June Dairy Month Breakfast.
